The plant is indigenous to Sri Lanka and is found in following countries:- Asia Brazil India Nepal Sri Lanka The plant grows perennially over the tropical and subtropical region of India, Sri Lanka, Brazil and tropical east Asia. It occurs at high altitudes upto the height of 2500 Meters in Himalayas in the regions of Garhwal, Kumaon to Nepal. It is also occurs in Deccan, Penicsula and Parasnath hills in Bihar. It is common on dry and barren hills.
