What is indigestion? |

Indigestion is the term used to describe pain and discomfort in the upper abdomen or chest that can develop after a meal. The medical term for it is dyspepsia. Sometimes a burning feeling is felt in the chest, and this is known as heartburn.
It is a vague feeling of abdominal discomfort - possibly including a feeling of fullness, belching, bloating, and nausea.

Its causes include:
1.Overeating or eating too fast .
2.Significant caffeine intake.
3.Eating fatty or spicy foods.
4.Significant alcohol consumption.
5.Smoking
6.Cholecystitis (inflammation of the gallbladder)
7.Chronic or acute gastritis (inflammation of the stomach)
8.Chronic or acute pancreatitis (inflammation of the pancreas)
9.Duodenal ulcer or gastric ulcer.
10.Antibiotics like aspirin.
11.Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). |

What are the symptoms of indigestion-Disease? |

The main symptoms of indigestion are:
- Pain, which may be in the upper part of the abdomen or the chest. This may not always be related to eating.
- Heartburn, a burning pain caused by reflux (regurgitation) of the stomach's contents back up the oesophagus (gullet). The pain is normally felt in the centre of the chest or behind the sternum (breastbone). If severe, it can be hard to distinguish from a heart attack.
- Loss of appetite, nausea and vomiting.
- Flatulence, burping or belching.
