The plant is indigenous to Europe and is found in following countries :- America Europe India North Africa It is a biennial plant, about 250 cm in height, found wild or cultivated in Levant, South Europe, and cultivated in Great Britain. It is wild in North Western Himalayas, hills of Punjab and in North Africa. It is also found as garden plant. It is cultivated on large scale in Europe, America and India.
