| Major |
|
|
|
Major chemical constituents responsible for physicochemical and therapeutic action of the herb are: -
Triterpenoid saponins
Panaxosides
Ginsenoides
Chikusetsusaponins
Sarch
Gum
Resin
Ginseng contains a complex mixture of triterpenoid saponins. These glycosides have been categorised into mainly three category viz. The panaxosides, the ginsenoides and the chikusetsusaponins.
