The rhizome about 5.0 cm in length and 5.0 mm in thickness is horizontal or oblique and is nearly cylindrical and often slightly curved. The leaves form a flat rosette, from the centre of which rises a flower stalk 1 to 2 feet high bearing orange-yellow flowers. |

| CULTIVATION |
|
The plant needs a mixture of loamy and peat sand. Its propagation may be done either by seed or by division of root. Sowing is done in early spring and plant starts flowering late spring to summer. The collection is done when completely dried and receptacles are sometimes removed as they are liable to be attacked by insects. The collection of root is done in mid autumn to late summer after dying of leaves.
