| CULTIVATION |
|
The plant needs clayeyloam soil that retains nutrients and allows good drainage. Tuberous roots in clayey soils can be harvested by simply pulling up the plants however the usual way is to hoe the soil carefully around the plant so as to facilitate removal without damaging the tuberous roots. Propagated is by rhizomes. The plants are generally planted about 0.45 to 0.80 Meters apart with a distance of about 0.6 Meters between rows.
