The plant is indigenous to India and is found in following countries:- India Italy Japan Malaysia Pakistan Turkey The tree is common throughout, India ascending to an altitude of 4,000 ft. and very common on the lower mountain tracts skirting the Himalayas and extending through Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh.
